Chitradurga Fort is the famous attraction here that was built in stages between the 11th and 13th centuries by the dynastic rulers Chalukyas and Hoysalas, later the Nayakas of Chitradurga of the Vijayanagar Empire. ‘Chitra’ means “picture” and ‘Durga’ means “fort” tagged with the english word Fort formed the name Chitradurga Fort. Lakundi is known for Lakkundi Museum Jain Temple Nannesvara Veerabhadreshwara Muskinbhavi Manikeshwara temple. These popular tourist attractions can be visited by booking a single package.
KSTDC revealed a tour package to visit Savadatti, Gadag, Lakkundi and Chitradurga from Bangalore. This three day trip starts from BMTC Bus stand Bangalore and takes you to sightseeing places like Yallamma Devi temple, Lakkundi Museum Jain Temple (Nannesvara Virabhandreshwara Muskinbhavi Manikeshwara), Chitradurga fort and more attractions. This trip ends at Bangalore and is operated frequently every friday.
